Autumn's Shy One

30" x 24" Oil on Canvas

This painting was one of five that went to Susan Livengood’s Sleeping Stones Gallery for next weekend’s county wide Annual Artists Studio Tour sponsored by the Haywood County Arts Council. Susan’s big, bold, energetic art is so exciting as is her gallery and I am honored to have been invited to participate. Thank you Susan! The address and a map may be found on the above websites.

While this piece was started a while ago, turning leaves outside my studio window, a brisk fall nip in the air and Susan’s invitation provided the inspiration needed to get it back on the easel. Seems I can’t get away from painting horses!

  10. I love the aura of mystery in this piece, and the horse is lovely. But what really takes my breath away, Rosemary, are your recent, stunning mother and child portraits. It is amazing how you have captured the individual personalities and the relationship in each portrait.
