                                                             6" x 6" Oil on Canvas

This nest of baby robins in an old magnolia tree was inspired by a nesting dove in the Palmetto
palm outside my window.  Doves seem to be somewhat careless in their location choices.  Before
she had a third egg, the nest was disturbed possibly by the very high wind gusts we had, or maybe
by a snake?  Very sad.

This painting started out as an 8" x 10" but there were way too many blossoms - so - cropped.  Was fun painting but not much time was spent once I realized the format simply wasn't working.

  1. Awwww! Very cute and well painted Rosemary!!! I love the flowers in the foreground!

  2. Thank you, Hilda! Would like to try this again with a different reference photo. I appreciate your comments!
