18" x 24" Oil on Prepared Masonite
Sculptures, statues and statuettes are fascinating for me whether in a park, in a garden, standing alone, on a pedestal or on a table. This little garden sculpture catching a late autumn afternoon sun was so appealing. After much thought, the bright red cardinal seemed a perfect finishing touch.
At least for a moment, our still little girl has A BIRD IN THE HAND!
Beautiful work Rosemary, you are one talented lady and a sweetie too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barb! Such a nice comment! I appreciate you and your support! We have been painting "together" for a while now. Got to go right now and see what you have posted!
DeleteA beautiful title for a beautiful painting Rosemary. I love how the light is hitting the statue. Adding the bird was perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hilda! This one was fun to paint and the bird was the only section that gave me a fit! So glad you like it!
DeleteLove this piece, Rosemary--the cardinal is a delightful touch, and made even more fitting with the little red flowers on the nearby winter bush. I have enjoyed browsing your recent posts and thank you for staying with your blog.
ReplyDeleteMary, thanks so much for your visit and your sweet comments! I'm afraid the blog gets neglected more often than not! It's always so good seeing what art friends are doing! I appreciate you!
DeleteCan't believe I didn't comment on this. I remember seeing it. I love it. Red is always an eye catcher for me. I like the textures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo! At the moment this is my husband's favorite! I appreciate your comments!
