NEW POINTE SHOES

                      24" x 18" Oil on Prepared Hardboard

My January post told of the ballet slippers found on E-bay and how much I'm enjoying the challenge of painting these toe shoes, especially the shiny ribbons!  In this piece I have attempted to paint the shoes (shoe) as if they were new.  With nieces and grand -nieces who dance, it's not too difficult to find a model.

Is this one finished?  I’m not sure so will put it aside for a while and look at it later with a fresh eye.  All and all, I'm pretty pleased with it.

After the February post, my blog comments were spammed so now when you say something and I do so hope you will leave comments, they will require approval.  I'm sorry for the inconvenience but guess it's necessary.  Wonder if any of you have had this problem?

  1. Since I moderate all comments, I just don't post the spam comments and I don't get too many of those.

I so love this piece, Rosemary. I love ballet, beauty and strength in motion. Ballerinas are so beautiful and this one is no exception.

  4. Rosemary, this is just beautiful and sentimental. Love it.

Yes I have the spam problems. I don't like the word puzzles so I have started monitoring. I think we get fewer comments. Sigh....

  8. Rosemary this is phenomenal...it looks finished to me but sometimes that is the hardest decision a painter has to make. What a wonderful subject and so lovely.

I have never had a problem with spam but I have heard others have so perhaps I should check this out.

    1. Oh Debbie! Thank you! Thank you! My husband always tries to get me to stop working on a painting before I feel it's finished. Sometimes I listen - usually I don't and those times I'm often sorry! :-)

Hope you never have a spam problem but the monitoring is working just fine.
