GRAPES AND MORE GRAPES
6" x 12" - Oil on Panel
Really don't know what to say about this one! Last fall my husband had an insatiable appetite for grapes. (I prefer mine in liquid form). We had green grapes, red grapes, purple grapes - you get the picture. What better time to set up a still life and do a companion piece for the oranges featured in the October post. It was lovely the way the sunlight seemed to make these little orbs glow enhancing their natural translucence...oops - sunlight moves quickly - so artificial light - not the same effect - take photos - totally lost the translucence. Capturing the reflections on the silver tray became a challenge as well. Sometime I shall try painting grapes again - but not for a while!

Despite some of your struggle, Rosemary, you ended up with a beautiful painting. Now, you will have to talk your husband into winemaking...lolol.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you Pat! I really appreciate your comments! Don't think Frank is too interested in squeezing these little jewels - just munching on them! Oh Well...:-)
DeleteDear Rosemary - this is beautiful. I think you captured these lovely orbs so well my friend. They look good enough to eat. Hope you are having a great week. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie! So nice of you to stop by! Sorry your February temps are so cold at Harmony Hill - good time to bake and paint! This is going to be a "studio week" for me!
DeleteRosemary, can't believe I haven't commented in soooo long. I do look! I really like the grapes, look delicious. We go for the liquid here, too! The beach scene is excellent and the award well deserved. Love the snow and cardinal, too. All very pleasing to these old eyes. Thanks for stopping by and reminding me to come comment. One day we will get to meet!
ReplyDeleteJo, I know what you mean by visiting and not taking time to comment! Your daily sketches constantly draw me to your blog - always so much to see! Thanks for your encouraging words! A trip to San Antonio is on my bucket list - and you aren't far from there, are you?
