The Art Council of Southwest Florida is the voice of our extended art community. It's umbrella includes nineteen art organizations with a combined membership of 6800 artists within a five-county area.
The Winners' Circle Show is a biennial exhibit showcasing artists who have won major awards during the two year period preceding the show within the Art Council's organizations. What a thrill when the invitation arrived last fall to show SPLASH DANCE in this year's exhibit where it would be displayed alongside those winning pieces of other regional artists I so admire!
The awards reception was grand with refreshments served in the courtyard of our Punta Gorda Visual Arts Center. Kudos to the show committee who did an outstanding job providing color catalogs, organizing, hanging and promoting this show judged by Fran Gardner, Professor of Art and Art History, University of South Carolina.
